LIIP Philosophy

Students

Entering a school and sitting in a classroom does not make a child into a student. Children must activate in a learning environment with help and support from experienced guides who help them transition from observer to participant in study and life. As children show growth in areas of study and social and emotional learning (SEL), they expand their library of knowledge by sharing with those around them. A true student is always listening, learning and growing. A true student is able and eager to teach others what has been learned.

Curriculum

LIIP students experience culture & history, languages & literature, technology & the arts through project-based learning. LIIP utilizes 21st century skills and Bloom's Taxonomy (Revised) as the frameworks for activities and events inside and outside of the classroom. Our students rise and excel as they engage in our multidisciplinary curriculum. LIIP learners become challengers of inequity, embracers of diversity, and integrators of the world around them.

LIIP courses use student-centered and project-based learning to meet curriculum goals and objectives. The role of the teacher is to guide students into processes of self-sufficiency and self-reliance. Through this guidance, children who attend LIIP become true students.
